Taekwondo brings great physical benefits, but also various values and skills that help temper the character of children. This Martial Art/Sport/ Activity can become a way of life for those who practice it. It’s an instrument for achieving physical and mental balance.
Our aim is to teach children basic Taekwondo skills, encouraging social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth in young children.
Taekwondo Classes consist of developing a series of physical and mental skills that will improve your child’s Confidence and Self – Esteem. These skills will also help them to get through the most complicated stages of development, acquiring important personal values, social skills and healthy habits for life.
Those with high energy levels become more aware of their body and surroundings.
Even the most timid and introverted children will gain confidence, self-esteem and initiative.
Although this discipline originated for combat in the Korean Army, it is NOT an aggressive sport. The basic training of Taekwondo is self-defence, not antagonism.
Moreover, this sport seeks to bring peace and tolerance to those who practice it, among other great benefits. It is a recommended aid to channel the inexhaustible energy of children, especially if they have disorders such as ADHD.
The ideal age to begin practicing this sport is around 3-4yrs years old (see our Tigers Classes). It’s better to start from a young age but it is an activity that can be taken up at any age or level of ability.
Changes in personal development don’t happen overnight, and it takes effort, perseverance and discipline to master the basics and improve. Therefore, the presence and help of parents/guardians is fundamental. You can help by reminding your children of their values, responsibilities and tasks, encouraging and supporting them in their progression and learning.
The most important thing is that the child is happy with what they’re doing in the environment they’re in, and that they always puts all their enthusiasm and effort into each and every lesson.
So what next? It’s time to get started!
